Dare to be Dyslexic – Terms and Conditions

1. Fees Payable:
Fees shall be calculated on the individual sessions, buddy sessions, and small group sessions and made payable via Internet banking. Price on enquiry.

1.1 Payment shall be made 48 hours prior to each tuition session.

1.2 Fees may be adjusted from time to time and shall become effective with seven days’ notice.

1.3 End-of-Year Reports available upon payment of $80.00 per student.

2. Absence, Cancellation, and Refunds:
Consideration will be given for reasons of a family emergency or sickness, and any prepayment to a future session may apply.

2.1 Weekly Payments advanced payment is to be made within 48 hours prior to every weekly session.

2.3 Confirmation of Term Tuition, Holiday Sessions, Workshops, and Screening: Your tuition/sessions will not be deemed confirmed until the payment is paid, and the enrolment form is signed, completed, and returned.

2.4 If the Tutor cancels a session for any reason, Dare to be Dyslexic agrees to refund the pre-paid amount for that session or may apply that to a future session.

2.5 Dare to be Dyslexic reserves the right to cancel any programme or Workshop due to insufficient enrolment. Upon cancellation, a full refund will be issued.

3. Late Arrivals:
No adjustment to fees shall be made for time lost because of late arrival by the student or by early termination of the session.

3.1 Sessions will not run beyond the booked times, due to the late arrival of the student.

4.  Make-Up Sessions (Credits):
Make-Up sessions (Credits) will be scheduled at the earliest possible time and enough notice shall be provided.

5.  Planning, Privacy, and Protection:
The Tutor undertakes to do all preparation prior to lessons and to structure lessons in such a way as to optimise time for the student’s benefit.

5.1 The Tutor shall keep confidential all information about the student and shall contact other parties involved in the education of the student only if given written permission by the student/caregivers to do so.

5.2 The Tutor shall at no time be required or obliged to execute homework or assignments on behalf of the student.

6. Warranties:
The Tutor makes no promises or warranties regarding a student’s performance as a result of any tutoring provided within a given timeframe.

7. Status of the Tutor:
It is expressly understood that the Caregiver retains the services of the Tutor as an independent contractor and not as an employee. The Tutor shall be responsible for her insurance and all statutory declarations and contributions regarding income tax.

8. Termination:
This tutoring contract may be terminated by either party at any time by giving the other party seven days prior written notice.

9. Copyright:
On all activities, teaching plans, and original work created by Kate Hey and Dare to Be Dyslexic Tutoring – all rights and work remain under this organisation. They may not be shared without prior permission.

10. Health and Safety:
Our staff are trained in First Aid.
